28. april i Oslo: Tatreez & te: Oppvarming til Visit Vestbredden 2024

Tatreez er palestinsk tradisjonelt broderi som har dype røtter i palestinsk historie og kultur. Det er vanlig å se tatreez på palestinske thobes (folkedrakter) og andre tekstiler. Hvert område i Palestina har sine unike motiver og mønster. Tatreez har gjennom årene blitt et symbol på tilhørighet, røtter og palestinsk motstandskamp. I 2021 fikk palestinsk broderi status som verdensarv hos UNESCO.

«Tatreez og te» arrangerer i samarbeid med Palestinakomiteen i Oslo, en workshop med foredrag om identitet, tilhørighet og motstand, og praktisk innføring i tradisjonelt palestinsk korstingsbroderi (tatreez fallahi). Deltakerne på workshopen kan velge mellom ulike motiver å brodere.

Arrangementet er åpent for alle. Dersom du har klesplagg med tatreez eller en thobe oppfordrer vi til å bruke dette på arrangementet, om du ønsker.

Vi serverer palestinsk te og noe søtt til. Palestinske Ibrahim Nasser stiller med palestinsk urtete fra «Nasser – Palestina», et selskap som jobber med å fremme palestinsk kultur og arv, ved å bringe essensielle palestinske smaker til Norge. @Nasser_palestina på instagram.

Arrangementet er også en oppvarming til «Visit Vestbredden», solidaritetsfestivalen for Palestina i Oslo 11. mai, som fremmer palestinsk kultur, historie og kamp for frihet.

Litt om arrangørene:

Samiha Nejmi er palestiner og er oppvokst i Libanon. Hun har siden ungdomstiden engasjert seg for palestinsk kultur og tatreez. Hun har jobbet som tatreezlærer i Beit Atfal Assomoud i Libanon. Det er en humanitær organisasjon som jobber for å bedre levekårene for palestinere i Libanon.

Kristin Sunde er landskapsarkitekt og bodde i Betlehem høsten 2018. Hun jobbet frivillig for Palestine Museum for Natural History og der lærte hun seg tatreez.

Leila Restan er norsk og palestinsk. Hun er samfunnsviter og er interessert i palestinsk historie og kultur. Hun jobber med instagramkontoen @mittpalestina.

Gada Azam er statsviter og aktivist. Hun er tatreez-entusiast og samler på palestinske thobes. Hun jobber også med instagramkontoen @mittpalestina.

ENGLISH:

«Tatreez» is Palestinian traditional embroidery with deep roots in Palestinian history and culture. It’s common to see tatreez on Palestinian thobes (national costumes) and other textiles. Each region in Palestine has its own unique motifs and patterns. Over the years, tatreez has become a symbol of belonging, roots, and Palestinian resistance. In 2021, Palestinian embroidery was recognized as UNESCO World Heritage.

In collaboration with the Palestine Committee in Oslo, ‘Tatreez and Tea’ organizes a workshop featuring lectures on identity, belonging, and resistance, as well as hands-on introduction to traditional Palestinian cross-stitch embroidery (tatreez fallahi). Participants can choose from various motifs to embroider.

The event is open to all. If you have clothing with tatreez or a thobe, we encourage you to wear it to the event, if you wish.

We’ll be serving Palestinian tea and some sweets. Palestinian Ibrahim Nasser will provide Palestinian herbal tea from «Nasser – Palestine,» a company dedicated to promoting Palestinian culture and heritage by bringing essential Palestinian flavors to Norway. @Nasser_palestina on instagram.

The event is also a warm-up to «Visit Vestbredden,» the solidarity festival for Palestine in Oslo on May 11th, which promotes Palestinian culture, history, and struggle for freedom.

About the organizers:

Samiha Nejmi is Palestinian and grew up in Lebanon. Since her youth, she has been involved in Palestinian culture and tatreez. She has worked as a tatreez teacher at Beit Atfal Assomoud in Lebanon, a humanitarian organization working to improve the living conditions of Palestinians in Lebanon.

Kristin Sunde is a landscape architect who lived in Bethlehem in the fall of 2018. She volunteered for the Palestine Museum for Natural History, where she learned tatreez.

Leila Restan is Norwegian and Palestinian. She is a social scientist interested in Palestinian history and culture. She runs the Instagram account @mittpalestina.

Gada Azam is a political scientist and activist. She is a tatreez enthusiast and collects Palestinian thobes. She also works on the Instagram account @mittpalestina.
