Babel Filmklubb presenterer «Paradise Now»

Da begynner oktober å ta slutt og månedens siste film er Golden Globe-vinneren ”Paradise Now” (2005). Filmen handler om to barndomsvenner som blir rekruttert til å utføre selvmordsbombing i Tel Aviv. Filmen er regissert av dyktige Hany Abu-Assad (Omar 2013), og dette er en viktig film om et vanskelig tema.

For å innlede filmen kommer Marte Heian-Engdal som er førsteamanuensis i Historie ved UiO, for å gi oss et oppdatert bilde på dagens situasjon i Palestia/Israel. Så ta deg litt velfortjent høstfri og kom og se filmen! Og som alltid er det te, kaffe og kake – Helt gratis!

October is ending, but Babel is still up and running and this time we are screening the Golden Globe-winner “Paradise Now” (2005). This film is an intense drama about two childhood friends who are recruited to do a suicide attack in Tel Aviv. The movie is directed by Hany Abu-Assad (Omar 2013), and it is a highly important film about a difficult subject.

To introduce the movie Marte Heian-Engdal who is an associate professor in History, comes to give us information about today’s situation in Palestine/Israel. So take some hours off to see this movie, you will not regret it. And as always: coffee, tea and cakes, all free off course!
