Åpent møte i Oslo om grasrotsaktivisme i Palestina 31. oktober kl. 19.00
Møt de palestinske menneskerettsaktivistene Jamal Juma og Mahmoud Subuh fra det okkuperte Vestbredden. Hør dem fortelle om livet under okkupasjon, motstandskamp og fremtidsvisjoner.
Jamal Juma, er koordinator for den palestinske grasrotorganisasjonen Stop the Wall/anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign, sentral i The Popular Resistence Committees og BDS-Movement.
Han vil beskrive den politiske situasjonen i Palestina og livet under okkupasjon. Videre vil han fortelle om Stop the Walls arbeid for å yte motstand mot okkupasjonen, og hvordan norske palestinavenner kan bidra for å styrke palestineres kamp for frihet og rettferdighet.
Mahmoud Subuh, er direktør for « International Relations for the Yafa Cultural Center“, Balata flyktningleir. Balata er den største flyktningleir på Vestbredden, hvor det bor 25 000 mennesker på en kvadratkilometer.
Han vil fortelle om hvordan et gedigent flyktningeproblem ble skapt ved opprettelsen av staten Israel i 1948, hvorfor det ikke er løst til dags dato, om de enorme sosiale problemene i dagens leire, og hvordan de med svært begrensa ressurser prøver å demme opp for en tikkende bombe.

Open meeting Thursday Oct. 31 1900 – 2100
What is happening on the ground in occupied Palestine ? Meet 2 grassroot activists from the West Bank: Jamal Juma (Stop the Wall organization) and Mahmoud Subbuh (Balata Refugee camp – Nablus). These Palestinians are visiting Norway week 44 for the international Conference: The Missing Peace – Oslo Accord 20 years after (www.ocp2013.no).
They will supplement the Conference in Oslo by attending an open meeting organized by Palestinakomiteen in Oslo on Thursday Oct. 31. The topics on this Meeting will be:
a) Resistance and unrest in the Occupied Territories. What did the Palestinians learn from the first and second Intifada ?
b) What could bring about a third Intifada, and what form would it take ?
c) What is happening in the C areas ?
d) What do the Palestians want from the international and Norwegian solidarity activists: Money? Resolutions? Visits?
Jamal and Mahmoud speak fluent English and the Meeting will mostly be carried out in English.
